New Years 2008-2009

This was a crazy new years this year! Miguel had to work until 11pm (in slc) and then rushed home.. but that is a later story... anyways.. my mom and I were shopping for some goodies to ring in the new year... Miguel had called earlier from work and said that he would be getting off around 9pm.. so that was good because we could do a little celebrating.. New Years is a big holiday in Mexico and they eat and party, etc... I wanted to give a little bit of that to Miguel... anyways.. so then we were invited to my mom's friend's house (Sherri and Bill) for a kid's party... for Michael.... so we headed over there thinking... ok.. we can visit until Miguel comes home and have a party at my mom's too :).. Michael had a blast.. they played games, ate goodies and had fun... then I got a phone call from Miguel.... he had to work until 1am... after the new years... I was sad for him.... poor guy.. that had never happened at Sysco before... well.. I thought... ok... we would stay at the kids party and then ring in the new year and then see him afterwards... I was mainly sad for Miguel..... especially since I bought a special surprise for him... grapes... lol..... in Mexico... at the stroke of midnight you eat one grape per strokes (12 strokes.... 12 grapes) and you think of 12 wishes you have for the new year... and this brings luck to all who do this... and I had gotten the grapes for him.... so... I thought we could just do this once he got home.... then at 11pm... a happy call came in.... he was done working... yeah! and he was coming home.. so my mom and Michael and I said our goodbyes and headed home.... where I prepared his grapes and then he arrived.... 10 minutes to midnight... perfect timing... :)
We watched the ball drop.. with Michael too (I can't believe he stayed up that long!) and had our grapes and made our wishes too (my mom too... LOL) It was a fun new years after all.
WE ALL WISH ALL OF YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEARS FILLED WITH NEW MEMORIES AND LOTS OF LUCK AND HAPPINESS!
