Christmas 2010 (so far)

Every year we try to not exchange presents... but adopt a family in need instead. This year we helped (with other teachers) adopt 3 families in need. Saturday we delivered the first set of presents to a family. It was a great opportunity and I loved seeing the faces when we brought the presents into their house and put them under their tree. I really loved the expression of excitement on the 10 year old's face when Miguel brought a new bike with a bow on it into the home. I love this about Christmas. I love sharing with others who are less fortunate. We did make sure that Michael was able to get something this year too. All he wants this year is a $100 visa gift card... so he can go shopping after Christmas.. (the sales.. ahhh... he has learned to be frugal like me.. lol)... I love that we have no presents under the tree... but just a nativity ... to remind us what the true meaning of Christmas is. I love that spirit of Christmas is in my heart... That is my special present.... and that is all I ever want for Christmas.
